Paris 2024 Paralympics: Indian archer Sheetal Devi finished second in the women's compound open rankings on Thursday with her personal best score of 703.
Sheetal Devi created a sensation by breaking the previous world record.
Sheetal Devi broke the previous world record of 698 by scoring 703 out of a possible 720 in the qualification of the women's individual compound archery.
However, she was surpassed by Turkey's Curie Girdi who set a new world record of 704 points.
India's men's para badminton stars Sukant Kadam and Suhas Yathiraj registered stunning wins in their opening men's singles SL3 matches.
Earlier, India's para badminton women's singles star Manasi Joshi lost to Indonesian No. 1 seed Konita Syakuroh in the SL3 category in the third deciding game.
India's Paralympics 2024 journey began in India vs India in para badminton, when the mixed doubles pair of Nitesh Kumar and Thulasimathi Murugesan defeated compatriots Suhas Yathiraj and Palak Kohli.
