Paris Olympic: Manu-Sarabjot Bags Bronze in Mixed Event. Bhaker creates history winning 2 medals in one Olympics

India's beloved Manu Bhaker has created history by winning two medals in the Olympics. She won the bronze medal in the 10 meter mixed team event in the Paris Olympics along with Sarabjit Singh. 

This is Manu Bhaker's second medal in the Paris Olympics. With this, 22-year-old Manu has become the first Indian player in Olympic history to win two medals in the same Olympics. Manu won the bronze medal in the 10 meter air pistol event on Sunday.

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh competed against Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin of South Korea for the bronze medal in the 10 meter mixed team event of Paris Olympics on Tuesday. The Indian pair defeated the South Korean pair 16-10 in this event and won the bronze medal. This is also India's second medal in Paris Olympics. India has won both these medals in shooting only.

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh did not have a good start in
the bronze medal match. The Indian pair lost from the first shot. The Indian pair did not get disappointed by the bad start and won the very next shot. After this, they did not look back. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh were ahead 6-2. By the time the Korean pair reached a score of 6, the Indian pair reached 14. When India needed only two points to win. Then the Korean pair won two consecutive shots and took their score to 10. But the Indian pair did not give any chance to the opposing pair after this. The Indian pair won the 13th shot and made the score 16-10.

Manu scored ten or more 10 times while Sarabjot Singh did this feat 9 times. That is, the Indian players scored more than 10 in 19 shots out of 26. On the other hand, the Korean pair could do this only 12 times. From this difference, it can be easily understood how much dominance Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh must have had in this match.

Before Manu Bhaker, there have been only two Indian players in Olympic history who have won two medals in individual events. Sushil Kumar won medals in wrestling in 2008 and 2012. Similarly, star shuttler PV Sindhu has won medals in 2016 and 2020. But Manu Bhaker has gone ahead of wrestler Sushil Kumar and shuttler PV Sindhu in this matter that she has won both her medals in the same Olympics.
