PM Inaugurates 7 Airport Projects In 5 States

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated various projects worth Rs 6100 crore related to 7 airports in 5 states. 

This includes the inauguration of new airports in Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Rewa in Madhya Pradesh and Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh. With the opening of these three airports, the capacity of passenger arrival will increase by 2.3 crore annually.

PM Modi inaugurated these virtually from Varanasi. Apart from this, the foundation stone of the new terminal building was also laid along with the expansion of the runway of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It will be built at a cost of Rs 2870 crore.

At the same time, the foundation stone was laid for the civil enclave to be built at Agra airport at a cost of Rs 570 crore. 

The foundation stone was also laid for the civil enclave to be built at Darbhanga airport in Bihar at a cost of Rs 910 crore and at Bagdogra airport in West Bengal at a cost of Rs 1550 crore.

Modi said- With the blessings of Baba, projects worth thousands of crores of rupees have been inaugurated and foundation stone has been laid here. These include projects that will give new heights to the development of the country and UP. Today, different airports have also been inaugurated in UP-Bihar-West Bengal-MP and Chhattisgarh. Apart from Babatpura airport, this also includes Agra and Saharanpur's Sarsawan airport.

Modi said- In the last decade, we have brought AIIMS, medical colleges, super specialty hospitals to small cities. Thousands of medical seats have been added to overcome the shortage of doctors in the country. We have decided that 75 thousand more seats will be added in the coming 5 years.
