PM Modi Highlights Tripura’s ‘Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi’ Growth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spotlighted Tripura’s swift and steady transformation, crediting the state’s progress to its embrace of the philosophy of “Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi”—a development model that advances growth while safeguarding cultural heritage.
Responding to a social media post by Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, who shared an article on Tripura’s evolving landscape, the Prime Minister said the state has emerged as a compelling example of how modern infrastructure and traditional identity can advance in tandem.
In a post on X, PM Modi observed that Tripura’s development journey reflects a rare synthesis of economic expansion, industrial momentum, and deep-rooted cultural preservation. He noted that the state is rapidly achieving new milestones by harmonising policy-driven growth with respect for its civilisational legacy. Sharing Scindia’s article, the Prime Minister invited citizens to gain insight into Tripura’s expanding opportunities and future promise.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, in his article, described Tripura’s rise as being anchored in the trinity of heritage, policy, and progress, positioning the state as a strategic gateway linking India’s North-East with South-East Asia. He said his recent visit offered clear evidence of the transformative changes witnessed over the past decade, where tradition and modernity are no longer at odds but are mutually reinforcing.
Scindia further emphasised that Tripura is consolidating its role within the national value chain while resolutely preserving its cultural ethos. He added that the state’s development narrative demonstrates how economic ambition and cultural continuity can coexist, shaping a future that is both dynamic and rooted in identity.
