In a historic moment for Tripura, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the newly developed and beautifully transformed Mata Tripureshwari Temple under the Prasad Project. The ₹54.04 crore project, jointly funded by the Central (₹34.43 crore) and State (₹17.61 crore) governments, has given the temple a majestic new look, blending tradition with modern infrastructure.
The Prime Minister performed sacred puja at the temple, praying for the welfare and prosperity of the nation. The event witnessed the presence of Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, MP Biplab Kumar Deb, and several other dignitaries.
PM Modi arrived in Tripura amidst a grand welcome at MBB Airport, followed by a helicopter ride to Palatana OTPC, where he was greeted by the state leadership. The entire city of Udaipur was adorned, with spectacular decorations and unprecedented security arrangements ensuring smooth proceedings. Key roads, including the stretch from Brahma Bari to the temple, were temporarily closed to ensure safety.
The event marks a significant milestone in the “Development of Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex”, approved by the Ministry of Tourism in 2021 and later updated to reflect enhanced designs. Today’s inauguration not only celebrates heritage but also reinforces the state’s place on the national spiritual map.
