Pre-Poll Violence: Cong Parliamentery Committee Meets Tripura Governor

A delegation of All India Congress Parliamentary Committee met the Governor of Tripura N. Indrasena Reddy on Thursday. 

The Congress leaders alleged about the ongoing terror ahead of The Panchayat elections along with the situation in Gandacherra subdivision under Dhalai District.

Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi, in-charge North East, Girish Churankar, Tariq Anwar and All India Congress Secretary Szarita Laitphlang were present in the delegation. 

They came to the state along with Tripura Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha and MLA Sudip Roy Barman and met Governor Indrasena Reddy 

Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Gaurav Gogoi and North East Region in-charge Girish Churankar said that the Congress party is worried about the incidents. Such incidents are not acceptable at all. 

"We meets the governor and demanded that those affected by the incidents should be helped. Compensations must be there. Apart from this, it has been demanded to take measures for the development of law and order in the state" said the delegates.

They also said that terror is increasing in the state of Tripura. Opposition is under attack. They are unable to exercise their democratic rights. The administration is also failing to provide security to the opposition candidates. 

The leaders of the delegation said that the governor had looked into their complaints and assured them of taking appropriate measures
