'Propaganda Against Us' Reacts India Over US Report Claims Attack On Minorities

India on Thursday rejected the US report on religious freedom. India's Foreign Ministry said that the US Commission on Religious Affairs (USCIRF) is not an impartial institution. It wants to tarnish our image by presenting wrong facts about India. We reject their report.

In fact, the US Commission released a report on religious freedom on October 2. It said that lies were spread about religious minorities in India and attacks were made on them on this basis. Apart from this, their places of worship were also targeted.

On this, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the commission should avoid sharing a report based on an agenda. It should use its time to raise human rights issues in America.

USCIRF in its report had demanded the US State Department to put India in the list of countries of concern. This is not the first time that the US Commission has raised questions about religious freedom in India.

Earlier in May, on a report, the Ministry of External Affairs had said that we never expected USCIRF to understand India's diversity and democratic values. It is just trying to interfere in India's elections, which will never succeed.

During the Lok Sabha elections in May, many reports came out in the American media about religious freedom in India. It was said that the elections in India are against Muslims. They are being sidelined in their own country.

However, later the US State Department also clarified these reports. The Ministry had said that America is always ready to protect the right to religious freedom across the world. We have got the support of many other countries including India for this. The US State Department also rejected the International Religious Freedom Report, which stated that Muslims are being oppressed in India.

Earlier in February, British newspaper The Economist had also published a report. It said that there are flaws in India's democracy. India was ranked 41st in this report published with the ranking of democracy in 167 countries.

According to the report, democracy exists in India with some flaws. A major drop in India's score was recorded in the year 2019. However, since then the country's score has continuously improved
