Qatar Called Iran. 12 Day War Stopped. Know The Story Behind The Scene

Iran on one side and Israel-America on the other side.

Finally the 12-day war between them has ended.

A ceasefire has been agreed between them. US President Donald Trump said on Monday (US time) that a "complete and comprehensive" ceasefire will be implemented between Israel and Iran with the aim of ending the conflict between the two countries.

Trump suggested that Israel and Iran will have some time to complete any ongoing mission, after which the ceasefire will begin in a phased process. This ceasefire will happen at 9.30 am Indian time.

The question here is that when the war was becoming more dangerous with each passing day, when America itself had attacked Iran, then how did a ceasefire suddenly get agreed upon?

After all, which country played the role of a mediator behind this, who went and talked to Iran, who persuaded it to stop the war.

Qatar's PM played an important role:

Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani had secured Iran's approval for a US-proposed ceasefire in the conflict with Israel, an official briefed on the ceasefire negotiations, told news agency Reuters.

According to the Reuters report, Prime Minister Al Thani first called Iranian officials and during this obtained the consent of the Iranian government for the ceasefire.
Prior to this conversation, US President Donald Trump had spoken to the Emir of Qatar.

In this call, Trump informed him that Israel had accepted the ceasefire proposal and now it was Qatar's turn to convince Tehran to agree to the agreement. Trump requested assistance from Qatar, as reported by Reuters.

How the ceasefire happened?

According to Trump, Iran must initiate a ceasefire first, followed by Israel.  He also urged both countries to remain "peaceful and respectful" during the overlapping ceasefire.

He told, "Officially, Iran will start the ceasefire and 12 hours later, Israel will start the ceasefire and at the 24th hour, the official end of the 12-day war will be saluted by the world. During every ceasefire, the other side will remain peaceful and respectful."

12 Day War- What happened?

The war began on June 13 when Israel launched a massive airstrike on Iranian military and nuclear facilities, calling it "Operation Rising Lion."

In retaliation, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a massive drone and missile attack called "Operation True Promise 3," targeting Israeli fighter jet fuel production facilities and energy supply centers.

But tensions escalated further when US launched "Operation Midnight Hammer" on Sunday morning with precision airstrikes on three key Iranian nuclear facilities.

In response, Iran retaliated by firing multiple missiles at US military installations in Qatar and Iraq, including Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar - the largest US military base in the region.
