Rahul Accuses ECI of Mass Voter Deletions, Issues Ultimatum

Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Thursday launched a blistering attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI), alleging a massive conspiracy to delete millions of votes across states using centralized software, fake logins, and mobile numbers from outside states.

Addressing a press conference, Gandhi claimed that voter deletions were not random but deliberately targeted at minorities, Dalits, OBCs, and tribal communities.

Citing specific cases, he pointed to the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections, where 6,018 votes were allegedly deleted in the Aland constituency to target Congress. In Maharashtra’s Rajura seat, 6,850 votes were struck off in a similar fashion.

He also highlighted instances where a single woman’s mobile number was used to delete 12 voters without her knowledge, and another man’s details were misused to wipe out 12 names. “In some cases, two online forms were filed within just 36 seconds,” Gandhi said, calling it clear evidence of manipulation.

In a direct attack on Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Gandhi declared:
“The Chief Election Commissioner is not a mute spectator but an active protector of vote thieves. He is complicit in the conspiracy to destroy Indian democracy.”

The Congress leader further alleged that Karnataka CID had repeatedly written to the ECI about these irregularities, but no action was taken. Issuing a stern warning, Gandhi said:
“If the Election Commission does not come clean within one week, it will be evident that the Commission itself is involved in vote theft.”

With his ultimatum, Gandhi has squarely put the ECI in the political spotlight, raising questions on the credibility of India’s electoral process ahead of crucial state and national polls.
