Rajya Sabha Polls, Assam: Two Candidates Elected Unopposed

Two candidates who filed nominations for two Rajya Sabha seats in Assam have been elected unopposed. 

The Returning Officer has handed over certificates to Rameshwar Teli and Mission Ranjan Das here

Elections are to be held on September 3 for a total of 12 Rajya Sabha seats from nine states. 

The last date for withdrawal of nominations was August 26, i.e. Monday. 

Former Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Kamakhya Prasad had filed nominations from both the Rajya Sabha seats of Assam, Dibrugarh seat and Kaziranga seat
