Rat Run Grounds IndiGo Flight, 3-Hour Panic at Kanpur Airport

In an unusual mid-air safety scare on the ground, a Delhi-bound IndiGo flight from Kanpur was forced into a three-hour delay after a rat was spotted inside the aircraft on Sunday.

The drama began moments before departure, when cabin crew sighted the rodent moving inside the cabin. Panic spread as passengers also noticed it, forcing the airline to deboard all 172 travellers immediately.

A joint operation by IndiGo’s technical team and ground staff ensued, with the aircraft combed inch by inch. After three tense hours, the rat was finally caught, and the flight was cleared for departure at 6:04 pm.

Airport director Sanjay Kumar confirmed the incident, stressing that “passenger safety was non-negotiable.” IndiGo has remained silent on the matter.
