Rathyatra Festival Celebrated in Tripura

Rath Yatra festival has been celebrated with great enthusiasm in Tripura too on Sunday in an atmosphere of religious fervor.
On this occasion, the main program was held at Jagannath Temple , Agartala. The traditional Rath Yatra starts from Jagannath Bari and traveled the various routes of the city.
A lot of activity has been observed in Jagannath temple, ISKCON temple and other temples in city Agartala, the capital since Sunday morning centering the Rath Yatra festival.
From noon to afternoon, the crowd gradually increased due to the Rath Yatra festival.
The traditional Rath Yatra festival is celebrated in Jagannath temple this year too with due dignity. A special puja was organized at the Jagannath Bari temple from the morning of this day.
Many devotees from all over the country came to Jagannath Bari Temple to participate in the Rath Yatra festival. Prasad was distributed among devotees at Jagannath Bari on the occasion of Rath Yatra festival.
Around 4 in the afternoon the chariot of Jagannath begins moving. People have been thronging at Jagannath bari since noon due to Rath Yatra festival.
Police and other volunteers were deployed to handle the situation. DM West Tripura Vishal Kumar himself inspected the chariot befor it started moving.

Many religious people stood on both sides of the road to pull the rope of the chariot. Along with the big chariots, children also enjoy riding small chariots on the streets of the capital city of Agartala. Devotees were also seen coming forward and offering puja to lord Jagannath.
A priest of the Jagannath Temple said that this year a nine-day Rath Yatra festival has been organized in the Jagannath house.
On this occasion, various programs including religious discussions have been organized. A fair is also organized at Jagannathbari Road on the occasion of Rath Yatra festival. Shopkeepers participate in the fair with various items.
Extensive security arrangements are also made by the administration to prevent any untoward incident centering the Rath Yatra festival.
Apart from Jagannath Bari, ISKCON Mission in Agartala also celebrated the Rathyatra.
Notable that Rath Yatra Festival also celebrated in other parys of the state including Melaghar, Kailashahar, Udaipur, Dharmanagar.
