After winning the IPL 2025 trophy, RCB has become the most valuable team.
It has left behind MI and CSK, who have won 5 trophies each.
The business value of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has reached $18.5 billion (about Rs 1.56 lakh crore) in 2025. This is 12.9% more than last year.
According to a study by global investment bank Houlihan Lokey, the brand value of IPL itself has increased by 13.8% to $3.9 billion (₹33 thousand crores).
This season, advertising, viewership and investor interest have led to increase in brand value.
The final played between Punjab and Bengaluru on June 3 surpassed the India-Pakistan T20 match in the Champions Trophy in terms of viewership.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has become the most valuable franchise for the first time in the 2025 season.
RCB's brand value has increased from $227 million (₹1,946 crores) to $269 million (₹2,307 crores).
The team's first IPL title was the reason for the increase in valuation.
In the list, Mumbai Indians (MI) are at second place with $242 million (₹2,075 crores) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are at third place with $235 million (₹2,015 crores).
Punjab Kings (PBKS) saw the most growth in brand value by a whopping 39.6%. It has reached $141 million (₹12,08 crores). This growth has come from the team reaching the finals, buying big players in the auction and digital engagement. Apart from this, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad are also included in the top-5.
IPL 2025 earned $600 million (about Rs 5 thousand crores) from sponsorship and advertising, which is 50% more than last year. BCCI raised Rs 1,485 crore by making My11Circle, Angel One, Rupay and CEAT associate sponsors. Tata Group has also extended the title sponsorship for Rs 2,500 crore till 2people.This time the IPL final (RCB vs PBKS) was watched by 67.8 crore people, which is a new record for any T20 match. Its viewership was more than the T20 match played between India and Pakistan in February 2025. This match was watched by about 60 crore people
The IPL's global appeal is also growing steadily. Franchises such as the Punjab Kings now run teams in the Caribbean Premier League and are focusing on digital fan engagement. IPL seasons may become longer in the coming years and cricket's entry into the Olympics may further increase its value
