Yash Dayal, fast bowler for Royal Challengers Bangalore, has reportedly married content creator Shweta Pundir. According to media reports, the couple tied the knot on February 4 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, in an intimate ceremony attended by family members and close friends. No prominent figures from the cricket fraternity were reportedly present at the wedding.
Shweta Pundir is a Delhi-based social media influencer and vlogger, with nearly 587,000 followers on Instagram. She has also worked as a broadcaster for the Intercontinental Legends League, gaining recognition for her digital content and sports-related engagements.
However, Dayal has been embroiled in serious legal controversies. In 2025, he was accused in two separate cases involving allegations of sexual assault. A woman from Ghaziabad alleged that the cricketer sexually exploited her for several years under the false promise of marriage, claiming that she faced emotional and physical abuse during the relationship. Following her complaint, a case of rape was registered against him.
In another case, authorities in Jaipur registered an FIR after a minor accused Dayal of sexual assault. The complaint alleges that the cricketer raped a 17-year-old girl in 2023 after promising to help her pursue opportunities in cricket. The case was reportedly filed at the Sanganer Sadar Police Station in Jaipur.
Despite the allegations, the 28-year-old pacer is set to represent Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League. He was retained by the franchise for ₹5 crore ahead of last year’s auction.
Dayal made his IPL debut in 2022 with the Gujarat Titans and was part of the squad that won the championship in their inaugural season. He gained widespread attention in 2023 when Rinku Singh of the Kolkata Knight Riders struck five consecutive sixes in a single over bowled by Dayal, a moment that quickly became one of the most talked-about incidents in IPL history.
In 2024, Dayal was named in India’s squad for the home Test series against Bangladesh national cricket team, although he is yet to make his international debut.
