Regularize SSA Teachers Within 3 Month: Tripura HC To Govt

The Tripura High Court gives verdict on the regularization of the teachers working under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, SSA.

The court directed the state government to regularize them within the next 3 months.

On Tuesday the division bench of Chief Justice of the High Court Apresh Kumar Singh and Justice S Dutta Purakayastha ordered regularization of those appointed as teachers under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Scheme by August 23, 2010.

Note that on February 23, 2021, the then Chief Justice of the High Court A K Qureshi and Justice S G Chatterjee's division bench directed the state government to formulate the scheme. Accordingly, the state government formulated the scheme on 30th September 2021.

But a large number of teachers are excluded from regularization during the implementation of the scheme.

The state government said that the teachers appointed after 3 September 2001 and before 30 August 2010 did not have educational qualification and professional qualification.

The deprived teachers filed a writ petition challenging the decision of the Education Department. The single judge bench dismissed those cases on 23 May 2023. A number of writ petitions were filed against this judgment. The High Court today delivered judgement on the writ petitions.

As a result of this judgment , thousands of teachers of SSA will be benefited.
