Rs 5 Lakh Under Ayushman Bharat Scheme For Elderly People: Centre

The Modi government has given a gift to the elderly above 70 years of age. The central government has announced free treatment of Rs 5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
The central government has decided to bring all people above 70 years of age under the health insurance scheme Ayushman Bharat.
Now all people aged 70 years and above will be included under this scheme, irrespective of their financial status.
Giving information about this after the cabinet meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that PM Narendra Modi had made a commitment that all senior citizens above the age of 70 years should be given coverage under Ayushman Bharat PM Jan Arogya Yojana.
That is, even in those families which are not covered under Ayushman Bharat PM Jan Arogya Yojana, people above the age of 70 years will be covered. A new category will be created under which people above 70 years of age will get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that about 4.5 crore families including 6 crore senior citizens will be covered under this scheme.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this is a very big decision. There is a great humanitarian thinking in this decision. The elderly will get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh and this will cover about 4.5 crore families in the country. 6 crore people will benefit.
During the cabinet meeting, the proposal of the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has been approved to promote a scheme called 'PM E-Drive Scheme' to promote electric mobility in the country.
An expenditure of Rs 10,900 crore has been fixed for this scheme in two years. PM E-Drive scheme will support 88,500 charging sites.
The decision of PM E Bus - Payment Security Mechanism has also been announced in the meeting. According to which 38000 e-buses will be run in 169 cities. The government has approved an expenditure of Rs 12,461 crore for 31,350 MW hydropower projects
