The meeting of the Pradesh Pracharaks of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) begins today in Delhi and will continue till July 6. 233 people associated with the Sangh and its affiliated organizations will be present in it.
BJP's organization general secretary BL Santosh will also attend the meeting.
The preamble of the constitution and the election of the new BJP president will be outlined in the event to be held at the Delhi-based RSS office Keshav Kunj. The RSS is preparing to launch a nationwide debate on the appropriateness of the words 'secular' and 'socialist' in the constitution.
The RSS meeting is taking place at a time when the election of the BJP's national president is to be held in about 15 days.
It is believed that the final consensus will be reached in this meeting regarding the next BJP president, after which the party can announce the date of election of its president.
In the program '50 years of Emergency', RSS General Secretary Hosabale had said without naming the Congress, 'During the Emergency, two words Secularism and Socialism were added to the Preamble of the Constitution of India. These were not there in the Preamble of the Constitution earlier. Later, no attempt was made to remove them. There was a discussion and both kinds of views were presented. So should these words remain in the Constitution? This should be considered.
He said, 'During the emergency, the constitution was murdered and the independence of the judiciary was abolished. During the emergency, more than one lakh people were jailed, more than 250 journalists were imprisoned, 60 lakh people were forcibly sterilized. If this work was done by their ancestors, then an apology should be made in their name.'
JP Nadda's term as national president ended in June 2024. He is on extension. At the same time, he is also a minister in the central government, due to which the BJP is preparing to elect a new president soon.
JP Nadda was made the working president in 2019 and in January 2020, he became the national president of BJP.
BJP elected new state presidents in 9 states in 2 days in the beginning of July. After this, the picture of the election of the national president has become clear. According to the constitution of BJP, the election of the national president takes place only after elections are held in 50% of the states.
At present, BJP has 37 recognized state units. Out of these, presidents have been elected in 14 states so far. Presidents of 19 states will be elected on Wednesday. The national president may be elected in July.
