Many Indian citizens recruited in the Russian army have died so far. In April, India's investigative agency CBI arrested 4 people in the case of fraudulently sending Indians to the Russia-Ukraine war.

Three of these people were from India, while one was a translator working in the Russian Defense Ministry.

All these people were part of a network in which Indians are lured through social media with the promise of jobs and good salaries. According to the CBI, a Delhi-based visa company has so far sent about 180 Indians to Russia.

consultancy companies target those people who want to work abroad. After this, YouTube videos are made to deceive them. In these, it is shown that there is no effect of war in Russia and everyone is safe. After this, vacancies are shown for the job of helper, clerk in the Russian army and for evacuating buildings destroyed in the war.

It is told in the video that the people who take up the job will not have to go to fight on the border. They will be given a training of 3 months, during which they will get a salary of 40 thousand rupees. After completion of the training, the salary will be 1 lakh rupees.

When Indians fall prey to the deception and go to Russia, they are forcibly given military training. They are shown false documents on which it is written that if they do not join the Russian army, they will be sentenced to 10 years in prison.
