On this tour, wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul can be seen leading the team in ODIs.

Team India, which won the World Cup on June 29, is currently on a tour of Zimbabwe, where the selectors have sent a young team under the captaincy of Shubman Gill. Senior players have been rested from this tour.

BCCI may give rest to senior players of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup last week, captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jaspreet Bumrah from the Sri Lanka tour. Hardik Pandya or KL Rahul may be given the captaincy of the ODI team.

In his resignation letter to the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Wanindu Hasranga said, 'As a player, I will always perform best for Sri Lanka. As always, I will support my team and leadership and stand by them.' Hasranga became number-1 in the ICC all-rounder rankings a day ago.
