On Thursday, thousands of students took to the streets on 'Mourning Day' in Bangladesh. During this, their demand was that former PM Sheikh Hasina should be brought back to the country and a case should be filed against her.
On the other hand, boycotting the mourning day, the protesters said that now a new history of Bangladesh will be written in which its identity will not be on Bangabandhu but on Islamic basis.
During this, the protesters said that action should be taken against those who were in the former government of Bangladesh.
Sheikh Hasina should be brought back to the country and prosecuted. The students involved in the demonstration said that Sheikh Hasina had ordered firing during the student movement. Action should be taken against all those responsible for this incident.
Students associated with Jamaat-e-Islami organization who came to the protest said that the history of Bangladesh will be written from today, in which it will not be identified with Bangabandhu. Now Bangladesh will be identified on Islamic basis.
During this, the protesters also laid siege outside Sheikh Hasina's house. Violence took place at many places. Awami workers were beaten up. The mourning day was completely boycotted.
Violence took place in the Dhan Mandi area of Bangladesh. Many vehicles were torched and people were beaten up. Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina's house is in the Dhan Mandi area.

A large number of people were present outside Sheikh Hasina's house to stop the people.

Many parties had requested the interim government that 15 August should no longer be celebrated as a national mourning day. Those who made this demand included parties like BNP, Jamaat, Amar Bangladesh Party, Gun Adhikar Parishad, Bangladesh Jatiya Party and National Democratic Movement.
15th August is celebrated as a National Mourning Day every year in Bangladesh. On 15th August 1975, army officers surrounded his house from all sides and shot him dead. Since then, 15th August is celebrated as a National Mourning Day in Banglades.
