Sonamura: Public Blocks Road. Jailed Father Saw The Deceased Son For Last Time

Father jailed under NDPS Act, son succumbed to complications and died at GBP Hospital on Friday night. A bail application for one day was filed in the Sonamura court under so that the father could see the deceased son for the last time. But the bail was not met. 

In protest local residents started  road blockade movement.This incident took place at Baghaichar area of ​ Sonamura-Bilonia road under south Tripura District.

The road blockade lasted for long time. Finally, police of local Jatrapur PS reached in Sonamura jail with the deceased body. 

There, father Gautam Das was given an opportunity to see his deceased son Rahul Das for the last time. After that, the police took the body back to the house in Char area of ​​Baghaima. 

Finally the people called off the road blockade movement.

According to the news Gautam Das of Nirbhaypur Panchayat of Jatrapur Police Station was in jail for the last five months after being accused under the NDPS Act. On the other hand, his ill son Rahul Das was undergoing treatment. He died on Friday while undergoing treatment at GBO Hospital in Agartala. 

His body was brought home on Saturday morning. A one-day bail application was appealed to the court so that the father could see his deceased son for the last time. But the bail plea was not granted. 

But the stubborn villagers started road blockade movement in support of their demands. As a result, traffic stopped on Sonamura-Bilonia road. Public suffering became extreme. 

Finally the police brought the body to the jail premises. There the jailed father was allowed to see his son's body for the last time and after that the body was taken back home. 

At last the local residents withdrew the road blockade movement
