Sourav Ganguly to Headline Grand Finale of Unity Promo Fest-2025 in Tripura

Former Indian cricket captain and globally acclaimed sports icon Sourav Ganguly, the brand ambassador of Tripura Tourism, will grace the closing ceremony of Unity Promo Fest-2025 on December 12, marking a major milestone in the state’s push towards international tourism recognition.
Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced the development on Wednesday, stating that the festival—an annual flagship initiative of the Tripura government—has emerged as a powerful platform for projecting the state’s tourism potential onto the global stage.
The Unity Promo Fest-2025, which commenced in Dhalai district on November 8, has witnessed widespread public participation and growing industry engagement, reflecting increasing interest in Tripura’s unique blend of natural beauty, indigenous culture, and rich heritage.
The closing ceremony, scheduled to be held at the Swami Vivekananda Ground, will be formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha. Adding star power to the occasion, renowned Bollywood playback singer Jubin Nautiyal will deliver a live musical performance.
Highlighting the expanding footprint of the festival, the Tourism Minister revealed that 122 tour operators from 28 Indian states will participate this year—nearly three times the number recorded in the previous edition.
Significantly, the event will also host international tour operators from Thailand, Myanmar, Bhutan, and Malaysia, all of whom are slated to engage in a high-level interaction with the Chief Minister to explore tourism collaboration opportunities.
Chowdhury emphasized that the state government is strategically working to position Tripura as a key destination on the international tourism map, leveraging its pristine landscapes, spiritual sites, ethnic diversity, and cross-border connectivity.
Quoting data from the Ministry of Tourism, the minister noted that Tripura recorded the second-highest foreign tourist footfall in the Northeastern region last year, surpassed only by Sikkim—an achievement that underscores the state’s accelerating tourism growth.
With prominent personalities, industry leaders, and international stakeholders converging at the finale, Unity Promo Fest-2025 is poised to serve as a defining moment in Tripura’s tourism narrative.
