SPG in Agartala as PM Modi to Visit Tripurasundari on Sept 22

A team of Special Protection Group (SPG) officers landed in Agartala on Tuesday to oversee security arrangements ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Tripura on September 22.

The SPG team, along with the Prime Minister’s car and convoy vehicles, arrived in a special Indian Air Force flight. They are scheduled to hold a meeting with senior state police officials and review security at the Tripurasundari Temple in Udaipur, where the Prime Minister will attend an event.

According to the official sources, Modi will visit the historic Tripurasundari Temple at 3 pm to inaugurate the redeveloped Matabari premises under the PRASAD scheme, in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. Before leaving the state, he will also offer prayers at the temple. The Prime Minister is not expected to deliver a speech during the visit.

The Chief Minister will fly to Udaipur from Agartala in a chopper, while another SPG team comprising senior officers is expected to arrive soon to finalize security arrangements.

Authorities in Gomati district are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. The newly-developed infrastructure at the Matabari premises is ready, with only minor finishing touches underway.

With the visit coinciding with the festive season, people in Udaipur are eagerly awaiting the Prime Minister’s arrival, adding to the celebratory atmosphere ahead of Durga Puja and Diwali.
