Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday reaffirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance, attributing Tripura’s accelerated progress to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing the main Statehood Day समारोह at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Modi’s dynamic leadership and farsighted policies have ushered in an era of turbo-charged development and genuine empowerment across Tripura, particularly benefitting the youth, women, and Janjati (tribal) communities, while preserving India’s timeless values and cultural ethos.
“The state is steadily advancing towards the vision of a New Tripura — a vibrant mosaic of inclusive growth, rich cultural heritage, empowered youth, world-class infrastructure, and a self-reliant future,” Dr. Saha said, reaffirming his government’s “rock-solid resolve to build a stronger, more prosperous, and forward-looking Tripura.”
Highlighting the far-reaching impact of the Prime Minister’s Act East Policy, the Chief Minister noted that Tripura and the entire Northeastern region are today progressing rapidly on multiple development fronts, propelled by unprecedented improvements in connectivity and infrastructure.
He further stated that since the BJP government assumed office in 2018, Tripura has emerged as one of the country’s leading states across key sectors, including agriculture, education, healthcare, industry, infrastructure development, women’s empowerment, public safety, and self-reliance.
Reiterating Tripura’s commitment to the national goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’, Dr. Saha said the state government remains firmly guided by the vision and leadership of Prime Minister Modi to build a more developed, resilient, and inclusive Tripura.
Calling upon citizens to renew their collective resolve, the Chief Minister urged people on Statehood Day to pledge themselves to the construction of a truly progressive and harmonious ‘New Tripura’.
During the programme, Dr. Saha read out a message from the Prime Minister addressed to the people of Tripura. He thanked Prime Minister Modi for his warm greetings and for reaffirming the Centre’s steadfast commitment to inclusive development, enhanced connectivity, peace, and prosperity in the Northeast.
In his message, Prime Minister Modi said that the government’s ‘Purvodaya’ vision for eastern India is playing a transformative role in accelerating development across the Northeastern states. He observed that for decades, the people of the region, including Tripura, had felt distant from the national mainstream.
“Our government was given the opportunity to change this reality by bridging distances, strengthening emotional bonds, and forging a deeper connect with the people of this region,” the Prime Minister said.
He added that over the past eight years, the double-engine governments at the Centre and in Tripura have worked relentlessly for the state’s transformation, in accordance with the decisive mandates of 2018 and 2023.
As part of the celebrations, the Tripura government conferred Statehood Day awards on several eminent personalities in recognition of their outstanding contributions to education, science, health, music, culture, cinema, women’s empowerment, politics, and social service.
