Students Can Take Admission in Universities or Colleges Twice a Year.: UGC

There is big news for the students who are going to take admission in universities and degree colleges across the country this year. Now students will be able to take admission in universities or colleges twice a year. University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M. Jagadeesh Kumar has given this information today, 11 June 2024. According to the information, UGC universities will now be given the exemption to conduct the admission process twice a year.

The UGC chairman said that by conducting the admission process twice a year, Indian higher education institutions will also be able to match the academic standards prevailing at the global level. Let us inform you that before this, i.e. till now, admission is taken once a year for graduate and postgraduate courses in universities and colleges across the country. According to the information, this decision of the commission will be applicable from this academic session i.e. 2024-25, after which higher educational institutes will be able to give admission to students in January-February also after July-August

The Common University Entrance Test- UG (CUET UG 2024) was recently conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 24 and 29 May for admission to regular graduate courses in government universities, private universities, deemed universities and affiliated degree colleges across the country this year. Since then, lakhs of students who appeared in this exam are now waiting for the release of the answer key, after which the agency will ask for their objections. After reviewing these objections, the result will be released and the NTA scores of the students will be released, on the basis of which students will get admission in various universities and colleges. 

Let us inform you that this entrance exam has been conducted only once a year so far. It is believed that now students will benefit a lot by taking admission twice a year.
