Super 8 Lineup Confirmed for T20 World Cup 2026

The Super 8 lineup for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has been confirmed, with India and Pakistan progressing from Group A after the completion of the league stage.

A total of 20 teams competed in four groups of five. The top two teams from each group advanced to the Super 8 stage after 36 league matches. The remaining fixtures, including Australia vs Oman, had no bearing on qualification.

Super 8 Format

The Super 8 stage will feature two groups of four teams each.

  • Each team will play three matches within its group.

  • Six matches will be played per group (12 in total).

  • The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.

The Super 8 begins on February 21. Two matches will be played on February 22, 26 and March 1, while one match is scheduled on the remaining days between February 20 and 28.

The semi-finals will be held on March 4 and March 5 (with the second semi-final at Wankhede Stadium). The final will take place on March 8.

If Pakistan reach the knockout stage, all their matches will be played in Colombo.

India’s Super 8 Fixtures

  • February 22: vs South Africa – Ahmedabad

  • February 26: vs Zimbabwe – Chennai

  • March 1: vs West Indies – Kolkata

Pakistan’s Super 8 Fixtures

  • February 21: vs New Zealand

  • Additional group matches against England and Sri Lanka (dates as per schedule)

League Stage Summary

Qualified Teams:

  • From Group A: India, Pakistan

  • From Group B: Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe

  • From Group C: England, West Indies

  • From Group D: New Zealand, South Africa

Eliminated Teams:
Australia, Ireland, Oman, Scotland, Italy, Nepal, Afghanistan, UAE, Namibia, USA, Netherlands and Canada were knocked out in the league stage.

The tournament, which began on February 7, now enters its decisive phase with the Super 8s set to determine the semi-finalists.
