T20 Semifinal India Vs England : Heavy Rain in Guyana Before Thursday's Match

The second semi-final of the T20 World Cup is to be played between India and England in Guyana on 27 June. This match will be played at Guyana's Providence Stadium on 27 June at 8 pm according to Indian time.

According to the ground report, there is a 70 percent chance of rain during the match. India and England teams may also face problems in practice before the match. As per the rules, the match time can be extended by 4 hours in case of rain. If even then the weather and pitch are not conducive for playing, then the match may be cancelled and Super-8 table topper India will get the ticket to the final.

Due to the time gap, a reserve day has been given for Semi-Final-1. However, the chances of rain during the match in Trinidad are very low. If this match is also canceled due to rain, then Group-2 table topper South Africa will reach the final.


Semi-final-2 is to be played between India and England in Guyana. A total of 4 matches have been played between the two in the history of T20 World Cup, in which India and England have won two matches each. There have been three group and one knockout match between the two. 

This semi-final will be the second knockout match of the T20 World Cup when India and England will face each other. In the last knockout, England defeated India by 10 wickets. However, India and England have played a total of 23 T20 International matches, in which India has won 12 and England has won 11 matches.

In the league stage of T20 World Cup, one match each between India and England was washed out due to rain. The match between England and Scotland to be held in Barbados on 4th June was cancelled without a toss. Due to this, England had to depend on the match between Scotland and Australia to qualify for Super-8. At the same time, India's match against Canada to be held in Florida on 15th June was also cancelled without a toss.

Only 5 matches of T20 World Cup were held at Providence Stadium in Guyana. Not a single match of Super-8 stage is included in this. The last match at this stadium was played on 9 June between West Indies and Uganda.
