T20 WC: India-Canada Match Abandoned Due to Wet Outfield

Canadian players had a chance to gain good experience by playing against India. But due to rain, the match between the two teams could not take place in the T20 World Cup. 

American players had earned fame by performing well against India. Now Canada also had this chance but rain betrayed them. 

This was the last match of Canada in the tournament which was already out of the race for Super 8. Both teams had to be satisfied with one point each.

The match between America and Ireland could not be played due to the wet ground. It has been raining continuously for many days in Florida. Due to this, many places on the ground have become like a swamp. Due to this, it has become impossible to play the match. The ground staff tried a lot to dry it but did not succeed. 

The match between Sri Lanka and Nepal on this ground was also washed away by rain.

Although the Canadian team did not get a chance to play a match against India, their players spent a lot of time on the field with the Indian team players. It was not raining in Florida. 

Due to this, players of both the teams came on the field. The Indian team also practiced by playing football. Along with this, the Canadian players were also seen talking continuously with the Indian players.

Now everyone has this question in their mind that will the result of this match affect the schedule of Super 8? The answer is no. 

India had secured its place in Super-8 by winning the first 3 matches. It was decided from the beginning that if India reaches Super 8, it will go as A-1. 

Due to the cancellation of this match, India has got 7 points. America remained at second place with 5 points. Even if America was at first place, it would have been considered as A-2 and it would have had to play in Super-8 accordingly.
