Tension has spread in Belonia over the meeting of former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. A meeting was held in Belonia today on the occasion of the martyrdom day of Badal Shil. Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and other leaders were present as speakers in that meeting. During the meeting, BJP supporters started raising slogans against Manik Sarkar outside the meeting venue. The incident instantly turned tense in the area. A large police force was deployed to control the situation. Although former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar spoke in this adverse situation.
It is worth mentioning that Left candidate Badal Shil was killed in an attack by miscreants before the last panchayat elections in Bilonia Chottakhala. His first martyrdom day was observed today at the initiative of the CPIM Bilonia Sub-district Committee.
Speaking on the occasion, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that tears should be turned into gunpowder for protest and resistance. We should stand against the killing of democracy in the state. While remembering martyr Badal Sheel, he said that he worked to awaken the common people. Badal Sheel led a powerful movement to ensure democracy in this area. The party in the state government has taken up a program to selectively kill those who are leading the fight for democratic movement to retain their power. Through which, those who are fighting to protect democracy and protect the just rights of the people can be eliminated and power can be kept in their hands. Under the leadership of Badal Sheel, the common people started speaking out against injustice, started taking to the streets in protest, so Badal Sheel was killed out of fear and terror to stop this protest.
He further said, those who are running the kingdom of loot think that if leaders like Badal Shil, who are the front-line leaders, unite the people against unjust exploitation and commit crimes, are removed, then the democratic movement can be stopped. But this is not a sign of the strength of the ruling party, it is a sign of weakness. The ruling party is afraid and armed to maintain its power, these incidents are proof of that.
According to him, the BJP government is losing their support. The countrywide general strike on July 9 is a living proof of this. The common people across the country are raising their voices against the BJP government. The situation is the same in the state too. There is almost no work for TWE, REGA. The common people are living half-starved due to hunger. There is no employment system for the youth. There is a shortage of teachers in the education sector, health services have collapsed. The law and order situation in the entire state has reached the lowest point. This government is failing in running the state. Highlighting the issue of the ADC area, he said that the Tipra Matha Dal has taken power in the ADC area. But there is no development in the ADC area. The people of the tribal section of the ADC area are suffering from food shortage due to lack of work. Meanwhile, the ADC leadership is going to London with money to have fun. Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar called for a nationwide movement against this. He said that a movement should be organized to show proper respect to leaders like Badal Shil. Everyone must come forward in the fight to restore democracy and restore law and order in the state by making the dream that leaders like Badal Sheel dreamed a reality. However, proper respect will be paid to leaders like Badal Sheel.
