A major storm is going to hit America for the second time in 10 days. According to news agency Reuters, a warning has been issued regarding Hurricane Milton in Florida.
The National Hurricane Center has placed it in category-5 of the most destructive storms.
In this category, there is a danger of huge loss of life and property.
Milton may hit Florida's densely populated area 'Tampa Bay' on Wednesday. Right now it is 1000 km away from Tampa. Tampa has a population of more than 30 lakhs.
The storm is expected to weaken when it reaches Tampa Bay. After this, it will move from central Florida towards the Atlantic Ocean.
Hurricane Milton is currently passing through the Gulf of Mexico. On Monday night, the speed of the storm was about 285 kmph. It is moving towards the state of Florida. Due to the storm, an emergency alert has been issued in 51 out of 67 counties of Florida.
Coastal areas in Florida are being evacuated. So far, about 5 lakh people have been evacuated to safe places. Earlier, Hurricane Helen had hit America. At least 225 people died in it.
Florida Governor De Santis has urged people to be prepared for the storm. He has asked people to move to safer places as soon as possible.
With Milton being declared a hurricane, it marks the first time three hurricanes have formed simultaneously in the Atlantic since September, Colorado State University meteorologist Phil Klotzbach said.
The weather department said that due to the storm, heavy rains and sudden floods can occur along with strong winds in Florida. Waves up to 15 feet high can also rise in the coastal area.
A storm is a type of disturbance in the atmosphere, which is accompanied by strong winds and rain, snow or hail. When they occur on land, they are called normal storms, but storms arising from the sea are called hurricanes. Hurricanes are more dangerous than normal storms.
Hurricane, cyclone and typhoon are the same thing. Cyclones are called by different names around the world. For example, cyclones that form in North America and Caribbean Islands are called hurricanes, cyclones that occur in Philippines, Japan and China are called typhoons and storms that occur around Australia and Indian Ocean i.e. India are called cyclones.
In terms of oceans, cyclones that form in the Atlantic and North West Oceans are called hurricanes. Storms that form in the North West Pacific Ocean are called typhoons.
The storms that arise in the South Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean are called cyclones. This is why the sea storms that occur in the areas around India are called cyclones.
Tornadoes are also strong storms, but they are not cyclones because they mostly form on land instead of the sea. Most tornadoes occur in America
