Three Tier Panchayat Election, Tripura: EC Published Draft List of Polling Stations

The tenure of the current Thre tier Panchayat ends in July this year in Triprea.

The State Election Commission has started preparations for the elections on time. 

As a preliminary preparation, the draft list of polling stations was published on Monday. 

This list has been published in 35 blocks of eight districts. State Election Commissioner Sharadindu Chowdhury said that objections to the published list have started from this day. 

All claims objections will be disposed of by May 30. The final list of polling stations will be published on June 3.

According to the draft list published  the number of polling stations is 2650. Apart from this, there are 606 Gram Panchayats, 6371 seats. 

There are 423 seats in 35 Panchayat Samiti and 116 seats in 8 Zilla Parishads. 18 new Gram Panchayats, 259 seats.

State Election Commissioner Sharadindu Chowdhury informed the media that the commission is moving ahead with the aim of holding elections on time. 

Talks will be held with the state government about finalizing the election date by the end of this month.

The polling schedule will be announced soon. Before this, all pre-preparations are being completed. In the first step, the draft list of polling stations is published in 35 blocks.

The draft voter list will be published on June 6. The final voter list will be released on June 24.
