Three-tier Panchayat Election: TSEC to Announce Draft Polling Stations' name on Monday

After announcing the date of publication of draft voter list for TThree-tier Panchayat elections, now the date of publication of draft list of polling stations has been announced by Tripura State Election Department. 

According to the announcement of the State Election Commission, the draft list of polling stations of 606 Gram Panchayats, 35 Panchayat Samiti and 8 Zilla Parishads will be published on May 20. Claim objections will start from that day on the published list. 

All claims and objections will be settled by May 30. The final list of polling stations will be published on June 3.

According to the law, the Three-tier Panchayat elections should be completed by the month of July this year. It is reported that the State Election Commission is moving towards that goal. 

However, it all depends on the current government. Elections will be held on time if the government wants. 

According to the political analysts  election of any body under the State Election Commission has not been held on time under the rule of the present BJP government. Even after nearly two years have passed since the deadline,  government has yet to conduct the ADC village committee elections.

Town and City Corporation and ADC elections also took place much later than the stipulated time. 

Now the Commission is making all preparations with the target level of holding the election within the decided period. 

Meanwhile, according to the announcement of the State Election Commission, the draft voter list will be published on June 6 this year.

Acceptance of claims and objections will continue till June 13. Claims and objections will be settled between June 14 and 18.

The final voter list will be published on June 24. The electoral roll will be prepared on January 1, 2024 on the basis of age.
