Tripura Achieves All 23 Priority Areas, Sets National Mark

Tripura has emerged as the first state in the country to fully implement all 23 Priority Areas outlined under Phase-I of the National Compliance Reduction and Deregulation Initiative, marking a significant national achievement.

In a formal communication, Cabinet Secretary Dr. T.V. Somanathan congratulated Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha and the state administration for accomplishing the time-bound reform exercise ahead of all other states and Union Territories. He lauded the Tripura government's “leadership and dedication,” noting that the state had set a benchmark in governance reforms.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Government of Tripura and to you and your team for being the first state to implement all 23 Priority Areas under Phase-I,” Dr. Somanathan wrote, commending the Chief Secretary’s personal involvement, which he described as “truly commendable.”

The Cabinet Secretary added that Tripura’s achievements now serve as a model for the rest of the country and expressed confidence that the state would sustain the same pace as Phase-II of the nationwide deregulatory exercise begins soon.

A copy of the congratulatory communication has also been forwarded to the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister for information.
