Tripura BJP Announced Candidates List For Upcoming Panchayat Polls

Tripura BJP announced the list of candidates nominated for  the upcoming Three-tier Panchayat elections in the state. 

Minister Sushanta Chowdhury made this announcement in a press conference on Sunday. The Three-tier Panchayat elections will be held in the state on August 8. The date has been announced by the Election Commissioner of the state. 

Accordingly, various political parties have already started the work of announcing the names of the candidates and submitting the nomination papers.

Meanwhile, on Sunday afternoon, along with announcing the names of 6270 candidates of 605 Gram Panchayats of the state, the BJP also announced the names of the candidates for Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad seats. 

In the press conference, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced the names of the candidates for 116 seats of 8 Zilla Parishads, the names of the party's selected candidates for 423 seats of 35 Panchayat Samiti and the names of candidates for 2270 seats of 605 Gram Panchayats. On this day, he mentioned that the work of selecting candidates by the Chief Minister and Pradesh President was completed on Saturday late night which was started on Thursday last. On behalf of the party, the  leaders brought the names of three candidates from each constituency and handed them over to the election committee. 

The minister mentioned that the candidates have been selected in a fully democratic manner considering their merit, efficiency towards the party and overall aspect.

He also said that the candidates of each constituency will submit their nomination papers by July 18. 

Minister Sushanta Chowdhury expressed the hope that the BJP party will win all the panchayats in the state just like the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections
