Tripura CM Highlights Tourist Spots Of The State While Meeting With Tour Operators

On the occasion of Tripura Tourism Promo Fest-2024, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha presented the state government's vision for the development of the state's tourism resources and tourism industry at the National Travel Mart. 

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury was also present at the event. 

This National Mart was organized by the Association of Domestic Tour Operators at Gitanjali Tourist Home this afternoon. 

On this occasion, tour operators from other states participated in the business-to-business discussion. 

80 representatives from 16 states of the country participated in this discussion. 

During the discussion, the Chief Minister said that after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power at the Centre in 2014, the adoption of the Act East Policy has brought about many changes in the communication system including rail, road, and air services. Moreover, the infrastructure in the tourism sector is being improved.

Speaking at the National Mart of the Association of Domestic Tour Operators, the Chief Minister also said that the law and order situation in the state is very good now. It is ranked 3rd from the lowest among the 28 states of the country. Due to the peaceful atmosphere in the state, the arrival of tourists has increased. In the discussion, the Chief Minister said that we want to introduce Tripura to the country and the world. For this, the help and cooperation of all India tour operators is needed. She said that about 37 crore rupees are being spent on the overall development of Matabari under the Swadesh Darshan, Prasad project. Unkoti has been registered for declaration as a heritage site. About 41 log huts and home stays have been arranged across the state for the accommodation of tourists. 

The Chief Minister said that various works including infrastructure development of Nirmahal, Kasba, Chabimura are being done with the financial assistance of the Asian Development Bank. In addition, the cultural diversity of the 19 tribal groups of Tripura is being highlighted with importance. The distinct culture of the state's tribes is one of the main attractions of tourism in the state. The state's GSDP has also increased through tourism.
