Tripura Focuses on Data Safety, Cyber Resilience

In a decisive stride toward digital sovereignty, the Government of Tripura on Tuesday unveiled its Cyber Security Policy 2025, a comprehensive blueprint designed to fortify the state’s digital infrastructure against emerging cyber threats.

The policy, inaugurated by S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, at Pragnya Bhavan in Agartala, envisions a resilient, secure and collaborative cyber ecosystem that harmonizes public and private sector efforts.

Krishnan underscored that the foremost objective of the policy is to shield citizens from potential cyber intrusions and to safeguard critical data assets. “This initiative ensures that data integrity remains uncompromised while empowering authorities to act swiftly against cyber-related offences,” he remarked.

He further noted that the Ministry is prioritizing verified data provenance and adaptive security mechanisms to counter the escalating risks of data breaches and digital fraud.

Following the policy launch, Krishnan participated in the National Cyber Security Exercise – ‘Cyber Bharat Setu: Bridging States, Securing Bharat’, a workshop curated to enhance the cyber awareness, readiness and response capabilities of state entities.

The session featured expert-led training modules, live simulation drills and scenario-based exercises, all aimed at strengthening institutional preparedness and promoting cyber resilience.

With this initiative, Tripura joins the league of progressive states formulating a forward-looking cyber security architecture — one that emphasizes protection, prevention, and preparedness in an increasingly interconnected world.
