Tripura gets Flipkart Grocery Hub, Boosts NE expansion

E-commerce major Flipkart on Tuesday announced a significant expansion of its supply chain infrastructure in the Northeast, one of its fastest-growing markets. The company has set up over 6 lakh sq. ft. of warehousing capacity in Guwahati, covering non-large, large, and grocery categories.

In Agartala, Tripura, Flipkart has launched a new grocery fulfilment centre with the capacity to dispatch 5,000 orders daily.

The region has witnessed 35–40% year-on-year growth, driven by digital adoption and rising consumer aspirations. Flipkart said it has created over 5,000 direct jobs in the Northeast, with a strong emphasis on employing women, persons with disabilities, and youth skilling.

The company’s Flipkart Reset for Business platform now connects more than 2,000 distributors and retailers in the region, contributing nearly 30% of overall business.

Flipkart is also scaling its quick commerce arm, Flipkart Minutes, with nine Micro Fulfilment Centres (MFCs) already live in Guwahati, and more in the pipeline. Currently, the company operates 391 small-format hubs in the Northeast, including 31 in Guwahati.
