The Tripura Government will soon set up Aadi Seva Kendras as single-window service centres in every indigenous-dominated village, Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Tuesday.
Highlighting the government’s focus on the welfare of tribal communities, Saha said that indigenous people had long been neglected, both in Tripura and across the Northeast, but the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi had prioritised their development since 2014.
To ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the remotest corners, the state has launched the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan, initiated during the Viksit Bharat Abhiyan on July 10. Under this, eight master trainers, 40 district master trainers, and 260 block master trainers will be appointed. Three categories of trained cadres—Aadi Karmayogi, Aadi Sahayogi, and Aadi Saathi—will be formed to carry forward the campaign.
Saha also cited the ongoing Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project, worth ₹1,400 crore, and announced that ₹81.69 crore would be invested over five years under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan for the welfare of indigenous communities.
Other key measures include:
Six operational Eklavya Model Residential Schools, with six more to open shortly.
An increase in the monthly allowance of indigenous samajpatis (community headmen) from ₹2,000 to ₹5,000.
A decision to appoint welfare officials for janajatis in every subdivision and district.
“In Tripura, there are 19 Scheduled Tribes and over 40 sub-tribes. Our Government has laid special emphasis on their holistic development,” the Chief Minister said.
