Tripura: Kishore Barman, The BJP MLA Takes Oath As Minister

BJP MLA Kishore Barman in Tripura took oath as a cabinet minister on Thursday. Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu administered the oath of office and secrecy to him in the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan. Barman has become an MLA for the first time from Nalchar constituency of Sipahijala district of Tripura.
After the induction of the new minister, the number of members in the cabinet of Chief Minister Manik Saha has increased to 12, in which there are nine members of BJP including the Chief Minister, while there are two ministers from Tipra Motha Party and one from Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT).
After taking oath, Barman called it a new chapter. He said, I will work for developed India and developed Tripura. He thanked the top leadership of BJP for showing faith in him. According to sources, Barman can be given the responsibility of the Education Department. However, on a question, he said, there has been no discussion on this yet. He said, as a BJP worker, I never think about such things. Whatever work the party entrusts me with, I will do it with full devotion.
Barman has spent a lot of time in West Bengal to strengthen the BJP there. Barman returned to Tripura in 2021 and was appointed the state general secretary of the party. He contested the assembly elections in 2023 and won by a huge margin from the Nalchar assembly constituency in Sipahijala district.
