Tripura: Left Front Submits Nomination For The Panchayat Elections

Immediately after the  announcement of the Three-tier Panchayat elections in Tripura, Left Front candidates started submitting their nomination papers. 

A rally was also held in Agartala on this day calling a big win of the Left Front candidates. On behalf of the CPIM West Tripura District Committee, the rally started from Melarmath in the capital and traveled various routes in city Agartala.

Left Front convener Narayan Kar, CPIM State Secretariat  member Pabitra Kar and other leaders were present at the forefront of the rally.

Convenor of the Left Front said in front of the media that the candidates  of Left Front submitted their nomination papers to the Returning Officer today. He said that looting is going on in the state during the double engine government. There is a class especially in the villages of the state who are embezzling crores of rupees without doing any work. This money is for the development of the people of the village. So, to defeat them, battle between BJP and Common People to be held in the upcoming panchayat elections. 

On the issue of whether to fight in alliance with the Congress, Kar said that, there is a discussion between the leaders of the Congress and the Left Front about whether to fight in an alliance in the elections. He also said that people suffering due to the current government's economic policies. And they are trying to introduce some anti-people economic policies. But there is money and food crisis everywhere in the state's villages and hills. In this situation, they want to introduce anti-economic policies again. But they don't know that they can't run bulldozers on people like before.

Later, a meeting was held in front of the office of the Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate.

Opposition leader Jitendra Choudhury , who was present there, alleged that there is no democratic environment in the state. All the elections after 2018 have been a farce.

"In this situation, one more election is going to be held. And demands have been made to the State Election Commission to take initiatives to conduct peaceful elections. But the election commission did nothing earlier but take some irresponsible attitude. Even now also it could not give any assurance that the upcoming elections will be peaceful.

He also said that after the last panchayat election, the new committee did not do any work for the development of the panchayat area. Later the nomination paper was handed over to the returning officer Dr. Vishal Kumar.
