Tripura: Man Killed Wife, Mother In Law. Arrested

Amidst the mourning of  goddess Durga's farewell, atrocity broke out. The husband killed his wife and mother-in-law with sharp weapon. 

The police have arrested the killer husband in the brutal incident of Sunday morning.

West Tripura District Superintendent of Police Dr. Kiran Kumar said in this regard that Samarjit Chowdhury, a resident of Madhupur, brutally killed his wife Tanushree Acharya and mother-in-law Soma Acharya in ONGC Netajinagar area around 4 am on Sunday. 

In that incident, the police arrested Samarjit from Madhupur. 

West Tripura District Superintendent of Police said that Tanushree and Samarjit have been living separately for the last one and a half years. 

Their divorce case is going on in the court. Tanushree was currently staying at her father's house in Netajinagar area. 

Their two children is with husband Samarjit Chowdhury in Madhupur.

According to Dr. Kiran Kumar K, the police confirmed the murder of his wife and mother-in-law in the confession of the accused. 

Samarjeet said the police that he had planned the murder after seeing pictures of his wife enjoying the Durga Puja with two young men on social media on Saturday night. 

Accordingly, he was hiding in his father-in-law's house that night. When the wife and mother-in-law were returning home, they were hit by sharp weapon and both died on the spot.

The West Tripura District Superintendent of Police said that Samarjeet first hit his wife with a spear. When she went ahead to save his daughter, he also hacked his mother-in-law to death. After killing them, Samarjit fled from there and went to Madhupur. 

 The police rushed there hearing the news of the murder and arrested him with the help of the Madhupur police.
