Tripura: Minister, BJP Leaders Faces Anger of The Violence Affected Families in Gondacherra

Tripura State cabinet minister Tinku Roy, BJP leader Subal Bhowmik, former MP Rebati Tripura, MLA Rampada Jamatia fell under the wrath of the affected families in Gondacherra under Dhalai District when they went there to meet them on Monday.

"Despite the  Section 144, how did so many houses burnt in to ashes" they asked the delegates. Asked if it was planned? And if not, the incident have happened in front of the District Superintendent of Police, he should remove the uniform and give it to the people, they said.

The people expressed their anger with the delegation and asked them to leave the place. According to them, a group of unruly youths attacked a young man named Parameshwar Reang on July 8 at the Ananda Mela in Gondacherra sub-division. Later, Parameshwar died while undergoing treatment at GBP Hospital in Agartala. In view of this incident, Section 144 was imposed by the Sub-Divisional Administration from Saturday afternoon.

But unfortunately on Saturday night, many houses were gutted by rioters despite imposition of Section 144. Many families became refugees. Many families lost their livelihoods. Shops were burnt in the riots. 

On Monday, the state government minister Tinku Roy went to inquire about the affected families in the Gondacherra sub-division. MLA Rampada Jamatia, former MP Rebati Tripura and top leader Subal Bhowmik were also present there. Seeing all the members of the delegation including the minister, the affected families blocked the way of the delegation by throwing their charred wood and tin. The cry of the families was in the air. 

All of the delegation, including Minister Tinku Roy, fell under the anger of the families. They continued to shout out the fact of that terrible Saturday night. 

These families are helpless today. The fire of violence has taken everything from them. The families continued to shout about the failure of the  police personnel and administration on that day
