Tripura: Police Constable Arrested For Involvement in Drug, Human Trafficking

Police constable arrested due to playing a key role in drug and human trafficking. The accused constable identified as Santosh Shill. He is a police constable of Damcherra police station under North Tripura District.
According to the report the arrested police constable was involved in the smuggling of contraband 10,000 Yaba tablets. The police got the information against him after investigating and arrested him and suspended him from his duty.
In this regard, the District Superintendent of Police said that the police of Dharmanagar police station arrested the accused constable from Damcherra area late on Thursday night.
Accused Santosh Shill was working in Damcherra police station. Police seized a Pulsar bike belonging to Jabrul Haque of Assam and a Thar car bearing number AS 23 AG 8055 in the name of the constable's wife while smuggling yaba from Geeta Bhawan area of Dharmanagar on the afternoon of July 22.
Police constable Santosh Shill was reportedly involved in human trafficking also. Dharmanagar police handed him over to the District and Sessions Court on Friday.
