Tripura Santiniketan Medical College Hosts Mega MedExpo

Tripura Santiniketan Medical College and Hospital has successfully organized a grand four-day medical and academic program from January 23 to 26, marking a significant milestone in the state’s growing healthcare and medical education sector.
The event featured ‘SMC MedExpo 2.0 Tripura’ and the ‘North East Medical Education & Clinical Excellence Conclave’, bringing together medical professionals, academicians, students, and healthcare stakeholders from across the region and the country.
In the college’s first academic year (2024–25), 150 MBBS students from 21 states have been admitted, reflecting the institution’s expanding national footprint. Alongside academic activities, the vibrant annual cultural fest “ARRHYTHMIA 2K26” and Santiniketan Mela were organized in a colorful manner. Notably, the Santiniketan Mela has received recognition from the World Book of Records, London, adding international prestige to the institution.
During the four-day celebration, several eminent personalities were felicitated, and women entrepreneurs from marginalized areas of Tripura were specially honored for their contributions, highlighting the institution’s commitment to social inclusion and community empowerment.
Addressing a press conference at the Agartala City Office on Tuesday, Chairman Malay Pit expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the local residents and the people of Tripura for their support, cooperation, and encouragement in making the programs a grand success.
Chairman Malay Pit also announced that indoor services at Tripura Santiniketan Medical College and Hospital will commence from February 1. He informed that for the past six months, OPD services have been provided at a nominal cost of ₹10, benefiting a large number of patients.
He further stated that the hospital’s 650-bed facility will become fully operational within the next six months. “Already, 50 renowned doctors of the state have been associated with this hospital to ensure quality and accessible healthcare services,” he said.
The successful organization of these events and the upcoming launch of full-scale hospital services mark an important step toward strengthening Tripura’s medical education ecosystem and healthcare infrastructure.
