The ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran entered its seventh day on Friday, with tensions escalating across the region.
Donald Trump declared that any potential agreement with Iran would only be possible if Tehran agreed to “unconditional surrender.” In a social media statement, Trump said such a development could pave the way for new and more effective leadership in Iran.
He also suggested that the United States would cooperate with its allies to rebuild Iran’s economy if the conflict were resolved. Echoing his political slogan, Trump introduced the phrase “Make Iran Great Again (MIGA)”, arguing that Iran could emerge stronger and more prosperous in the future.
Escalating military exchanges
Meanwhile, Iran has continued its retaliatory operations against Israeli and American military positions in the region, launching drones and missiles at several bases.
Trump also rejected the possibility of Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, succeeding his father as Iran’s next leader.
Heavy casualties and damage reported
According to reports emerging from Iran:
-
1,332 people have been killed in strikes carried out by the United States and Israel.
-
Around 1,300 attacks have been conducted across Iranian territory.
-
14 medical centres were reportedly targeted during the bombardment.
-
Water and electricity supplies have been disrupted in several regions.
-
Approximately 300 Iranian missile launchers are claimed to have been destroyed.
Iranian officials, however, asserted that their counterattacks damaged 20 US military bases located in Kuwait, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.
As the conflict intensifies, concerns are mounting internationally about the possibility of a wider regional war in the Middle East.
