Donald Trump has suggested that the current government in Iran could eventually collapse, though he believes such a development is unlikely to occur in the immediate future. Speaking in an interview with Fox News Radio, Trump stated that a time may come when the Iranian people themselves decide to change their government.
He noted that the Iranian population lacks access to weapons, which makes any attempt to overthrow the ruling establishment significantly more difficult. Nevertheless, he maintained that a political transformation remains possible, even if it may take considerable time.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused the United States and Israel of attempting to weaken and destabilize Iran through conflict and geopolitical pressure.
Pezeshkian alleged that Washington and what he described as the “Zionist regime” are conspiring to fracture Iran and other major Islamic nations. He asserted that despite these alleged efforts, Iran would firmly safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity.
At the same time, several media reports have claimed that Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is critically injured and currently in a coma.
According to the British tabloid The Sun, Mojtaba Khamenei was admitted to Sina University Hospital in Tehran after reportedly sustaining serious injuries during a joint U.S.–Israeli strike on February 28. His condition is described as extremely grave.
Reports suggest that the injuries were severe enough to require the amputation of one leg and caused extensive damage to his liver. Authorities have reportedly sealed off an entire section of the hospital while deploying heavy security around the facility.
Mojtaba Khamenei was appointed Iran’s Supreme Leader on March 9 following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, who passed away on February 28.
