Ukraine Entered in Russia, Occupied Thousand km Territory.

On 24 February 2022, Russia started a 'military operation' with the intention of conquering Ukraine in just a week, but after about two and a half years of this war, the situation today is such that Ukraine has not only entered Russia, but it has also occupied more than a thousand kilometers of Russian territory.

The governor of Russia's Belgorod region, located on Ukraine's northern border, has declared a regional state of emergency, blaming the continued shelling from Ukraine.

"The situation in the Belgorod region remains extremely difficult and tense," Vyacheslav Gladkov said in a video posted on the Telegram messaging app.

He said shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces has destroyed homes, and killed and injured civilians. "Therefore, we are deciding to declare a regional state of emergency in the Belgorod region from today... This will be followed by an appeal to the government to declare a federal state of emergency."

Gladkov's announcement comes as Russia struggles to push back Ukrainian forces in neighbouring Kursk after thousands of troops launched a surprise attack across the border on the morning of August 6. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said the attack was not aimed at seizing Russian territory but at forcing Russia to make peace.

"Russia started the war for others and now it is coming home to Russia," he said on Tuesday.

Kiev has said that it has taken control of 74 settlements in Kursk by advancing 40 square kilometers in the last 24 hours. At the same time, it has been claimed that Ukrainian soldiers have gained control over one thousand kilometers of Russian territory. It is being told that Russian soldiers were not at all ready for a sudden attack and Ukraine sent those military units to fight the war inside Russia, which are experts in fighting tough wars.

According to the report, more than a thousand kilometers of territory has been captured so far in Russia's Kursk region. Ukrainian soldiers have been seen waving their flags in these areas on social media.

Russia, which is once again trying to take back control of the region, has for the time being claimed to have halted the Ukrainian advance and stopped attacks on villages some 26 to 28 km from the border.

Due to the Ukrainian attack, more than one lakh people of Kursk have been forced to flee their homes to save their lives.

Gladkov said Belgorod had also been attacked by Ukrainian drones, although there were no casualties but some damage to buildings. Earlier this week, he announced the evacuation of people living in the border district of Krasnoyaruzsky.

Let us tell you that Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and currently occupies about one-fifth of Ukraine's internationally recognized territory.

More than 10,000 Ukrainians, including hundreds of children, have been killed as a result of the conflict, according to data released by the United Nations in February this year. Schools, hospitals and other key infrastructure have also been destroyed.

Last month, UN human rights chief Volker Turk urged Russia to stop "its coordinated, large-scale attacks against Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure" after a wave of attacks over the past two months
