Union Minister Suresh Gopi Reviews Activities of Tripura Tourism

Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Tourism Suresh Gopi said this in a review meeting on Tripura tourism organized at the State Guest House on Tuesday afternoon.

Urging to come forward with a spirit of competition with other states in the development of the tourism industry, the Union Minister of State advised on effective utilization of the period from September to March.

In the review meeting, the Union State Minister said that this time is marked as the peak hour of tourism in hilly state Tripura. Gopi advised to organize various events during this time especially village festivals on food, culture etc.

Later he also said that:

Central government is giving special importance on religious tourism, adventure tourism. The present central government is working on various projects in these two fields. States also need to act on this vision.

Tripura has great potential for development of tourism industry. This should be done with a true professional attitude. There is a huge employment opportunity for the unemployed youth through the tourism industry.

The unemployed should be encouraged to become self-employed through tourism. Currency loans can play a big role in this regard. If the new generation comes forward, not only they will be self-reliant but also Tripura will benefit through it.

Other states of the country should also participate in these festivals. If some of the famous athletes of the country are included, this festival will become much more lively. Based on this, as the tourism industry will develop, the income of the state will also increase. The most important thing is the economic prosperity of the people of the concerned area.

Advising to consider whether a particular month can be observed as Tripura month, the Union Minister of State said that various events can be done during this time to develop tourism. If Tripura proceeds in this way, it can become a model in the whole country.

Special attention should be paid to ensure that the environment is not polluted in any way. He also laid emphasis on ensuring that tourists do not face any inconvenience when they come to the state.

Various arrangements should be made in tourist centers for the convenience of tourists. Only then the tourism industry of the state will develop further.
