US President Donald Trump said that the US will send weapons to Ukraine through NATO and NATO will bear the full cost of these weapons.
Trump told NBC News that a new agreement has been reached between NATO allies and Ukraine regarding the supply of weapons from America.
According to the media reports, the US is preparing to send a package of $300 million (Rs 2.5 thousand crores) to Ukraine, which will include Patriot missile systems and medium-range rockets, although a final decision on the weapons is yet to be taken.
Let us tell you that America itself is a member of NATO. NATO is an international military alliance. By 2025, NATO has 32 member countries. Its purpose is to ensure collective security of member countries and protect them from external attacks. America contributes 66% to NATO expenses.
Along with this, Trump said that he can make a big statement about Russia on Monday.
This will be the first time after becoming the President that Trump will allow sending weapons to Ukraine under the Presidential Drawdown Authority.
This is a legal method that allows the President to send weapons directly from US stockpiles in bad times. Earlier, the Trump administration had only sent weapons approved by former President Joe Biden to Ukraine.
This new arms agreement is between the US, NATO and Ukraine. Earlier the US used to send arms directly to Ukraine, but now this process will happen through NATO. Trump said, "We will send arms to NATO, and NATO will pay for them completely. Then NATO will give them to Ukraine."
Trump has taken this step after his growing displeasure with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump told reporters at the White House on July 7 that he is not happy with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He had said- "To be honest, I am disappointed that Putin did not stop his actions." In fact, Trump had negotiated several times with Russia and Ukraine for a ceasefire, but Putin refused to ceasefire.
Trump also spoke about making a major statement on Russia on Monday, but he declined to elaborate.

Zelensky said at this conference that Russia's assets should be used to rebuild Ukraine. He also demanded increased arms supplies, joint defense production and investment.
The Ukraine Reconstruction Conference, held in Rome on 10 and 11 July 2025, is attended by 38 countries and several international organisations.
Meanwhile, in Malaysia, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a 50-minute conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Rubio said that he has asked Russia to come forward to end the war.
"We need to prepare for what's next to end this conflict," Rubio said, adding that the Trump administration is discussing with the US Senate what new sanctions should be imposed on Russia.
