Villagers Stages Protest Demanding Immediate Construction of Road

Road construction work of Krishnapur to Tilthoi Yuvraj Nagar under Dharmanagar has been going on for a long time. But the work is not completed on time. 

In protest, the villagers started a blockade from 10:30 am on Thursday. According to the villagers, this 24 ft road is connected with Anandabazar 

"But there is no 24 feet anywhere on this road rather it is less in different areas. The work span has been over four months, during which the road has been closed several times. About 800 people live in this area" they said.

Due to their anger, the road was blocked for about two hours from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Finally, the  and officials of various departments rushed to the spot. The contractor who was working also came there.

The road blockade was lifted after giving assurance of immediate completion of the construction work.
